Individual solutions through machined components (Added Value Products)
These products are rough or finish machined to customer drawings or our own specifications. Our extensive size range of seamless steel tubes and the machining facilities in V & M TUBES' mills enable economic solutions to be realized, including the substitution of hollow bodies for forgings, castings, welded structures and hollow bored bars.

The following machining operations can be carried out:

	Cutting to length
	External machining (straight or profile turning)
	Internal machining (straight or profile turning) and boring of bar lengths up to 15 m
	Boring and honing or boring and roller burnishing
	Internal and external shot blasting
	Internal and external grinding
	Tube end machining
	Welding (on request)

Materials / grades

	Structural steels
	Case hardening and heat treatable as well as nitriding steels
	High-alloy ferritic steels up to 13% chromium content
	Titanium and copper alloys for added value products on request

Special products

	Hollow bars (e.g. mecaplus, MBS tubes) with improved machinability
	Tecnipile for foundations, with defined cross section and mechanical properties, as well as traceability
	Tube and pipe in weldable fine-grain structural steels, with high strength and good impact toughness

Quality and standards
The wide range of applications calls for maximum flexibility in terms of tube dimensions and steel grades. In addition, mechanical tube and pipe have to meet the highest safety requirements. Needless to say, V & M TUBES uses state-of-the art technologies meeting and surpassing national and international standards.
The most important European standards for mechanical tube and pipe are EN 10297-1, EN 10294-1, EN 10210-1 and EN 10225-1. They replace former national standards such as DIN, NFA, BS etc. Outside Europe, the relevant national standards (e.g. ASTM, JIS, GOST) are applicable.

Size range Outside diameter: 21.3 to 711 mm (1/2" to 28") Wall thickness: 2 to 100 mm (1/8" to 4") Non-standard dimensions (larger outside diameters up to 1,500 mm, greater wall thicknesses), especially for added value added products, are available on request.
