The mandrel mill in Saint-Saulve near Valenciennes, which is located next to the steel plant there, uses the retained mandrel process (a Neuval patent). Continuous cast tube rounds are the starting material for the tube production.
This mill is designed for tubes in outside diameters of 30 to 140 mm and lengths up to 16.35 metres. It has developed a wide range of products and can handle over 3,000 order items per month. One of its specialities: boiler tube in all grades up to 12 % Cr content.
